breaking the silence

my oh my, I can't believe I am actually writing on my blog...ahhh!!  Here are a few updates:

YES we are still adopting.  We have been waiting for 19 months and had to re-do ALL of our paperwork as well as pay a bunch more fees.  We just got the last bits of paperwork gathered and are about to get them state sealed.  I feel like as soon as we send it in to our agency we will get a referral, but that just might be wishful thinking.

The kids are starting school at the end of August and I am very nervous because they are going to public school... its like the first day of kindergarten for 3 kids.  I might just cry.  I will miss them but I know they will do awesome!!
That being said, I hope to do more blogging with a bit more time!!

I feel like I've been neglecting my blog friends.  Forgive me.

holy moly..

. . . it has been a LONG time since I have even been in the blog world let alone written anything.  As far as adoption news we are still just sitting pretty and WAITING.  We are 13 months DTE and at that glorious stage of having to re-do all of our paper work.. (BIG sigh).  But what do you do, right!?!

In other news my husband and I were very privileged to participate in GSI (Global Studies Intensive) and spent 2 weeks (right after Christmas) studying about rural and urban missions in of all places Kenya!  It was beautiful there and I was so blessed to be a part of it.  We spent the first half of our trip in Nairobi and the second half in Nakuru.  We had a lot of beautiful experiences and one day I might even blog about it. . HA!

Alaska or Bust

Last week I had the pleasure of going to visit my 2 very best girlfriends in Alaska because one of them just had a baby, oh yeah, and they just happen to be sisters.  It was an awesome time for sure.

How did this happen??

I am not quite sure how it happened, but as of today, I officially have a 10 year old. . .aaaaaahhhhhhhhh run for the hills. . . oh wait, I mean Yeah. . . this is awesome!

This girl is seriously amazing!

She is very task oriented

Knows what she wants and will work hard for it

I can ask her to do anything and this girl will get. it. done.

She is my right hand man

and very often tries to act as the second mother

She loves her baby sissy more than anything

and that love is definitely mutual

She is beautiful both inside and out

Her heart is so sweet and tender

She is more responsible than some adults

She is very determined,

motivated,

competitive (mostly with just her brother),

and has the ability to talk your ear off.

Little miss Eliza, I love you more than words can say

and I am so thankful God gave me you!

Sweet Girl

My sweet Little Ava turns the big "6" today.

I can hardly believe it.

She is such a sweet, kind, VERY laid back kid.

She is free spirited and would go where the wind blew if she could.

She has the cutest freckles and dimple

and loves to sleep almost as much as her mom does;)

She loves barbies, babies (real and play), she absolutely adores her sisters and she thinks her brother is alright(when he isn't pestering her)

She could eat fruit all day if I let her, she often earns the award for most spilled food/beverage.

Her caring heart is what I love most about her

She prays for her baby brother every single night!

She loves her Dad like no other
